Welcome to Tiara, our new(ish) Medical Assistant!

Tiara Simpson joined the North by Northeast family as our Medical Assistant in July 2016. Since 2010 Tiara has served as an Army Medic in the National Guard, where she performs blood draws and immunizations for Oregon’s National Guard soldiers as part of their physical health assessments. In her role at North by Northeast she is a “bridge” between our clinical staff and our patients – she contacts patients with test results, makes sure they get the preventive care that is needed, coordinates with specialty providers and rooms patients for office visits. While working at North by Northeast Tiara is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in health science at PSU and plans to apply to medical school. Dr. Jill says, “I love working with Tiara! She is smart, focused, personable, efficient and inquisitive. All these qualities make her a great asset to our team and will serve her well in her career as a physician.” As for Tiara, she’s pretty happy too. “I’m so proud to be part of this clinic. North by Northeast is a sign of hope to people in the community. This is not just another job - it doesn’t even feel like work because I’m learning so much and get to spend time with people I consider my extended family. It’s different every day and I love getting to know our patients and hearing their stories.” When not in class or at work, Tiara enjoys spending time with her family and doing craft projects.
