Three of our interns graduated with honors from Jefferson High School on June 6! We have loved having these three students as interns and volunteers over the past year. We congratulate and celebrate Tianna Sly, Laura Taylor and Jesse Dance Taylor as they head off to college and careers in health care.
Our Garden Grows!
Together with our neighbors SMYRC and Cascadia Garlington Clinic, we decided a few months ago to convert a 2,000 square foot green space at our home, the Garlington Center, into a vegetable garden for each of our agencies' patients, clients, youth, volunteers and staff. United by a common mission to provide care and services to underserved populations, we share a vision for the garden as a space for therapy, reflection, recreation, education and work. inPortland Update on Pastor Mary
The inPortland section of the February 18, 2010 Oregonian features an update by Nikole Hannah-Jones on Pastor Mary's work in the community. Dr. Jill Ginsberg was one of many people inspired by Nikole's original profile of "Hurricane Mary" in 2005, and was determined to meet her. That meeting in November of 2005 was the first step in the journey that has become the North by Northeast Community Health Center.
