Cuts and Checks Scholars
For the past four years we’ve been partnering with neighborhood barbershops through Cuts and Checks™, our barbershop hypertension program. Our staff and trained patient ambassadors have checked thousands of blood pressures and referred hundreds of barbershop clients back to their health care providers for follow-up or to North by Northeast for insurance enrollment assistance and primary care. Safe Homes Healthy Homes Kickoff a Success!
We had a wonderful time welcoming community members and patients to our first Safe Homes Healthy Homes event in partnership with Metro! Guests could dispose of used needles/sharps and old medication safely, easily and for free thanks to Metro. Everyone was treated to great music and food, a food prep demonstration from NxNE board member Florence Jenkins, a green cleaning station, raffles for awesome prizes like Zoo passes and green cleaning kits, and information about employment with Metro.…
