Cuts and Checks Scholars
For the past four years we’ve been partnering with neighborhood barbershops through Cuts and Checks™, our barbershop hypertension program. Our staff and trained patient ambassadors have checked thousands of blood pressures and referred hundreds of barbershop clients back to their health care providers for follow-up or to North by Northeast for insurance enrollment assistance and primary care. Safe Homes Healthy Homes Kickoff a Success!
We had a wonderful time welcoming community members and patients to our first Safe Homes Healthy Homes event in partnership with Metro! Guests could dispose of used needles/sharps and old medication safely, easily and for free thanks to Metro. Everyone was treated to great music and food, a food prep demonstration from NxNE board member Florence Jenkins, a green cleaning station, raffles for awesome prizes like Zoo passes and green cleaning kits, and information about employment with Metro.…
We are Family!
On June 2, we joined with over 400 community members, donors, patients, friends and family to celebrate, sing, laugh, share a meal - and raise money for NxNE at our 2018 Community Supper. What a joyful celebration it was! And what a fundraising success too, thanks to the generosity of our corporate sponsors and hundreds of individuals.
